Golden Trout
Oncorhynchus aguabonita
- Look for brilliant golden-yellow sides. The flanks are a vivid gold color unlike any other trout.
- Two red or pink horizontal bands run along the lateral line on each side of the body.
- Count roughly 10 dark, oval vertical marks (parr marks) along each side. These blotchy ovals help set it apart from other trout.
- Check the dorsal, side, and anal fins. They show distinctive markings described in the source text that differ from common rainbow trout.
